Layers of Fullness

This piece draws attention to the impact of perspective, movement, and layers. From an aerial viewpoint, we gain an overview of place and time that is unavailable from other views. 
 
The landscape is revealed as layer upon layer, built up, or perhaps worn down, by time. There is a movement and form to it not visible from a horizontal angle.
 
The flight pattern of the birds, the angle of their shadows, the trail of golden flecks---remnants of their journey---all of these are seen through the lens above.
 
“Layers of Fullness” utilizes the greatest number of layers in its composition.  Multiple sheets of paper for each bird, on top of multiple sheets for the landscape come together to create an impact of dimension unrivaled in this collection. 
 
All of the pieces work together to point out that our view from this one moment in time, bound by time, and with no real understanding of reality outside of time, is limited at best. By looking at another moment---an aerial view of a migration of birds through an obscure landscape---we become aware that our view is incomplete.
 
What would our understanding be if we could look at our lives from a perspective outside of time? What pattern, movement, and design would we see? Perhaps it is enough that we can receive a new perspective from the One whose view is not limited by the bounds of time.
 
 
This is a mixed media piece which includes gallery wrapped canvas (12x16x1.5"), oil paint, metallic oil paint, cold-pressed watercolor paper, graphite, gel medium, and varnish. This style of collage painting helps express the layers, textures and varying elements that come together to tell the story with more depth and interest than paint and canvas alone.
 
The painting comes unframed unless you purchase a framing option but is painted on all sides if you choose to display it unframed.
 
Paintings usually ship within 1-2 weeks unframed, 2-3 if you choose the framing option. Shipping costs are included (approx. $30 value) and additional shipping costs of the frame are wrapped into that price.

The Fullness of Time Collection explores what it means to live within the bounds of time. What is the purpose of time? What are we filling our time with? What is time moving towards? When we better understand these concepts we are able to move through life in agreement with time. We start to understand right moments, proper perspective, and future fulfillment. This collection highlights different aspects of the fullness of time.
